This album is the collaborative effort between Heat Detector, a Chicago-based hip-hop producer, and Avarice, the Long Island native emcee. Having previously worked together on their 2008 release, "The Evidence Of Things Unseen", they returned to the lab, combining their artistic abilities to craft this sonic experience. Inspired by the Slave Theatre, a former movie theater in Brooklyn that was also used as a space for civil rights organizing, rallies, and speeches. The driving concept of this project is that hip-hop is our Slave Theatre, a place for us to display and express our joy and angst, triumphs and tribulations, uncut and unadulterated.
